Time: 9:30am-12:30pm

Overview: An effective board of directors can be one of your most important assets—but it doesn’t just happen.

Details:
You have to think strategically about:
• Your needs
• Developing clear expectations
• Recruiting creatively
• Competing for the best volunteers, and keep them engaged.

In this workshop, for executive directors and board chairs,
we will provide sample tools for all phases of the recruitment process.

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION WILL INCLUDE:
• How—and why—to build a diverse board
• The pros and cons of having clients, parents or other direct beneficiaries on the board
• The questions to ask potential board members and those they might ask you
• The on-boarding process: orientation, connection, engagement and assessment
• What information should be provided to new board members

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING:
