Overview: A house party can be an integral part of any organization’s fundraising strategy to develop individual donors and reduce your dependency on grants.

It is also a great way to connect with top prospects, future board members and to steward your high-level donors so that they renew—even increase—their gifts.

• The basics of a fundraising house party—setting goals, best practices, tips for the timeline, etc.
• Finding the right host and the right place
• Whom to invite
• At the party: the program, capturing names, the food, how to make the "ask" and who should do it
• Post-party plans to keep donors involved

Facilitator's Bio:ROBIN H. ROSENBLUTH, CFRE, has over 25 years of experience in fundraising. She is currently the deputy director of major gifts for The Nature Conservancy-NYC, where she is responsible for managing a team of fundraisers who raise funds for both New York and international conservation projects.

She recently served as assistant vice president for development at Columbia University Medical Center, where she was responsible for academic research priorities for the medical school's successful one billion dollar campaign as well as oversight of corporate and foundation relations.

Before then, she served as corporate director for Continuum Health Partners, Inc., where she managed corporate and foundation giving for four major NYC hospitals. She is the former director of development for the Ms. Foundation for Women and served as the chief development officer for the organization’s annual and endowment fundraising.

She also served as a development consultant for a broad range of nonprofit organizations and has conducted fundraising presentations and classes for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the CFRE overview course, the Association of Health Care Professionals, and the Support Center for Non-Profit Management. Rosenbluth received a B.A. in sociology and economic development from Friends World College, where she studied in Europe, East Africa, and Central America.
