Training of the Trainer

Date: Thursday, March 18, 2010

Overview: This two-day workshop (March 18 & March 25) will prepare you to: design and facilitate effective and engaging trainings and workshops.

Details:On Day One, March 18,
you will learn the fundamentals of experiential training and facilitation.

On Day Two, March 25, a week later,
you'll present a short workshop segment and
receive feedback on your content and technique.


TOPICS WILL INCLUDE:

• Basics of instructional design that will help you structure learning activities and devise exercises that meet your teaching objectives

• Ways to utilize adult learning concepts to reach all the learners in your group

• Time management tips to help you time your agenda

• Presentation techniques and facilitation skills to encourage and stimulate participation, even among reluctant participants

• Methods of evaluating your training or facilitation to determine its effectiveness

Facilitator's Bio:Andrée Lockwood, President of Andrée Lockwood Associates, has over 20 years of experience as a consultant, trainer, and facilitator. She conducts workshops and facilitates retreats on topics including communications skills, “training of the trainer,” time and stress management, and customer service.

Representative clients include: Fund for the City of New York, Grand Street Settlement, Maimonides Medical Center, New York Public Library, Project FIND, and UJA-Federation of NY. Andrée holds a Divinity degree from the University of London.
