CEU - Continuing Education Units

IACET logo

The Support Center is accredited by the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) to award Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for our workshops in New York and New Jersey.

The CEU is a nationally recognized means of quantifying the time spent in a classroom during professional development and training activities.

CEU credits can enhance your resume and build
upon credits received in college degree programs.

IACET CEUs are accepted by many colleges,
universities and government agencies throughout the country.

Guidelines:

  • One (1) IACET CEU is equal to ten (10) contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.

For most half-day workshops (3 hours) participants can receive 0.3 CEUs.
For most full-day workshops (6 hours) participants can receive 0.6 CEUs.

  • Participants must be present for at least 95% of a workshop

You cannot miss more than 20 minutes of any full-day session or 10 minutes of any half-day session (approximately 5% of the training time)

  • Participants must complete an outcome measurement device

Learning outcomes are generally assessed through the standard end-of-workshop evaluation forms.

  • CEUs will only be awarded after the workshop fee is paid in full.

The Support Center will track CEUs for a minimum of seven years.
Notice of CEUs earned will be sent to participants who request them.

Unless otherwise noted, you can receive CEUs for participating in any Support Center workshop. Special events, such as Meet the Grantmakers, are not eligible for CEUs.

International Association For Continuing Education & Training

The Support Centers CEU accreditation is through International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET). IACET grew out of a National Task Force on continuing education commissioned by the Bureau of Education (now the Department of Education) in 1968. IACETs mission is to promote and enhance quality in continuing education and training through research, education, and standard setting.
